Yann Banquet
I trained in cabinetmaking at La Bonne Graine, through apprenticeships at Ateliers EMG and Maleville.
After studying political science and gaining experience in cultural scenography, I discovered in wood a language capable of bringing together construction, memory and emotion.
With Bany, I develop collections of furniture and art objects where traditional cabinetmaking becomes a field for sensitive experimentation.
Cabinetmaking is my medium. It forms the technical foundation of my practice, but my work extends beyond furniture to explore materials, form, textures and the decorative arts.
Collections
Each collection explores a different way of revealing wood — its grain, textures and imperfections — in dialogue with materials such as tin, brass and gold leaf.
Unique pieces and small series, designed and made in the workshop.
Empreinte
Tin reveals the reliefs and irregularities of natural surfaces, transforming the material into a landscape.
Aura
Metal inlays and touches of gold leaf follow the natural movements of the wood, creating a dialogue between material and light.
Buxus
Abstract sculptures in boxwood, gold leaf and tin, where the unique characteristics of the wood become the foundation of the composition.
