Buxus Collection

A sculptural exploration in which form emerges through dialogue with the unique characteristics of wood.

The Buxus collection stems from a desire to let the material fully participate in shaping the form. Boxwood, a dense and finely grained wood, is chosen as much for its sculptural qualities as for the unique characteristics of each piece.

Knots, cracks, variations in grain and irregularities are neither corrected nor concealed: they become the elements from which the sculpture takes shape. The form thus adapts to the material rather than seeking to constrain it.

Gold leaf and tin are used selectively to highlight these imperfections, reveal a relief or accentuate a natural line. The contrast between the sobriety of boxwood, the brilliance of the metal and the traces left by time creates compositions in which the material itself becomes the pattern.

Each Buxus sculpture is therefore a unique piece, born from the encounter between an intentional form and the unpredictable characteristics of the wood.
